How to Book a Wedding at Holy Trinity
If you
have decided to get married, congratulations! - we wish you every happiness.
Your wedding day will be one of the most important in your life. You will be
making promises in church, which commit you to a relationship which should be
life long and the thought of it all can be daunting to say the least!
If you are considering a marriage service at Holy Trinity, the first step to
take is to contact our Rector, Rev'r Canon Janet Eastwood.
She will give you an application form and a leaflet explaining how we approach
weddings at Holy Trinity, and some of the practical things you will need to
consider. These include:
1. If you want your marriage to take place at Holy Trinity Church, one of you
should live within the parish of Holy Trinity, Wavertree, or should be on the
Electoral Roll of the Church. To be a member of the Electoral Roll means
attending church regularly.
2. If one of you is not British, then a special licence may be needed. The
Rector or Curate will advise you about this.
3. If one, or both of you is divorced, and the former spouse is still living,
you will need to see the Rector or Curate and talk this through. S/he will
welcome you and be happy to talk through all the possibilities.
After your application form has been received, then one of our clergy will
contact you to arrange a first meeting to answer your questions and begin to
make plans for what we hope will be a very happy occasion.
Needless to say, we will do all we can to help, but the earlier you contact us
the better - at least three months before your preferred date. Please make sure
we are able to book the wedding before you confirm the cars and reception!
